Black Friday Blogging Deals for Hosting Companies + Domain Name

Since 2009, I used Bluehost and recently in 2020, I started using Siteground. Both companies are having awesome Black Friday sales, which makes it a great time to start a blog.

Whether you get Bluehost or Siteground, you’ll want to grab my free blogging course to help you get started with choosing a niche all the way to posting your first blog post. You’ll even learn how to make money blogging!

The WordPress platform on both Bluehost and Siteground are the same and both services are virtually the same with slight differences. Here’s why you would choose Bluehost over Siteground or vice verse.

Bluehost

Bluehost is cheaper than Siteground. Their Black Friday deal has intro plans starting at $2.65/month, which is a steal considering their normal pricing is $3.95/month.

When signing up for hosting, you have to sign up for a whole year or more. To get the best bang for your buck, I would sign up for 36-months making your plan for three years $95.40.

The reason I’d opt for three years is because 1) blogging is a business and you will be doing this long-term and 2) when your intro plan is up, the normal plan returns to $7.95/month so you should try to deal that normal price as long as possible.

To get this $2.65/month deal, use this link on Black Friday.

Siteground

Siteground has better customer service than Bluehost (but tbh, after trying out both services, Siteground’s is only slighty better; they’re both good). But with better customer service comes a higher price except for on Black Friday.

Black Friday is the only time that Siteground’s prices compete with Bluehost’s. Their StartUp plan for Black Friday is $2.98/month.

That being said, this $2.98/month only applies to 12-months.

For 36-months, I can guess that the plan will be $6.98/month making a plan for three years about $250.

After your intro-rate period is over, the pricing goes up to $14.99/month. However at this point, to save money, you can switch to Bluehost. A lot of bloggers switch around when renewal is up to save money.

Since Bluehost’s Black Friday deal is still cheaper than Siteground’s, I usually recommend new bloggers to start out with Bluehost than switch to Siteground, which is what I did. Siteground makes it super easy to switch to their hosting with their plugin so starting with Bluehost than moving to Siteground is the better direction to go (vs Siteground to Bluehost).

Whichever hosting plan you go with, don’t forget to grab my free blogging course.

Squarespace

To be honest, I don’t recommend Squarespace. Having a WordPress blog is much better for SEO and is overall cheaper, but Squarespace is better if you want a really easy blog and don’t want to think about design.

To get this Squarespace Black Friday deal, click on this link and enter the code BLKFRI10. Deal is good from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

You can read about Wix vs Squarespace vs WordPress here.

NameCheap

Even though you can get a free domain name from your hosting company, buying from NameCheap actually saves you money in the long run. ˆI go into detail about this on day two of my free blogging course.

On Black Friday, NameCheap’s domain names are only $4.98/year, which is $4 cheaper than usual. Get this NameCheap Black Friday deal here.

Theme Design

17th Avenue + Pipdig

Out of all the themes I’ve tried, 17th Avenue Design and Pipdig have been my favorite (as I mention in my feminine WordPress themes post).

Optin Monster for Forms and Pop-ups

I personally upgraded to the Pro plan myself today! This allows my course to have affiliates and I have $0 transaction fees.

If you’re not ready for a paid plan, they have a free option (although the fee is quite high so it’s worth signing up for a paid plan).

Legal Pages

I see a lot of bloggers make the mistake of not having legal pages on their site. Those are Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Terms of Use pages.

These not only tell your readers what you’re going to do with their information when they come to your blog (i.e. cookies), they protect you legally against (rare but) crazy people who may want to sue you.

These legal pages made by a lawyer are the most protective legal pages being sold. They also have lifetime updates (i.e. GDPR) every time new laws come out.

To get this ASelfGuru Black Friday deal for legal pages, click on this link. Then use the code BF2021.

Most likely you will only need the Starter bundle, which is what I personally use.
